Marching Band Thrives Together
Nov 19, 2021
Tyler Jones, a WVSD208 alumnus and talented musician, has a passion for teaching and music. Mr. Jones has assisted in instructing since 2011, but he officially took over the marching band in 2017. Although their 2020 fall season was canceled, the marching band came back strong in 2021 and was excited to perform again. They placed first in their division and third overall at the Puget Sound Festival of Bands in Everett, Washington while also achieving best percussion, best visual effect, best music effect, and best general effect. Go Rams!
The marching band is known for excellence on and off the field. Mr. Jones says marching band is important for students, as it’s a place where students of all cultures belong. He strives to help create strong student leaders who accept others while being themselves. With a good leader, the Rams have developed a positive and inclusive environment helping them grow and be known as a band with precision, entertainment, and a passion to perform.
