Spring Sports Recap

West Valley had a very successful spring sports season with the following highlights.
Baseball –Finished second in the state academically and received the WIAA Outstanding Team Award for GPA. Finished fourth in league play, won their first postseason game, before finishing fourth at districts.
Fastpitch – Finished second in league play, finished third in the district tournament. Received the WIAA Distinguished Team Award for GPA.
Boys Soccer - Received the WIAA Distinguished Team Award for GPA.
Boys Track & Field – We had four athletes qualify for the state track meet. Finished second in the state academically and received the WIAA Outstanding Team Award for GPA.
Girls Track & Field - Finished fifth in the state academically and received the WIAA Outstanding Team Award for GPA. We had ten athletes qualify for the state track meet.
Boys Tennis - Finished second in the state academically and received the WIAA Outstanding Team Award for GPA. League champions and district champions. We had five athletes qualify for the state tournament.
Girls Tennis - Finished third in the state academically and received the WIAA Outstanding Team Award for GPA. League champions and district champions. We had four athletes qualify for the state tournament.
Boys Golf - Finished third in the state academically, and received the WIAA Outstanding Team Award for GPA. Boys team had two athletes qualify for the state tournament, with one qualifying for the second day.
Girls Golf - Finished fourth in the state academically, and received the WIAA Outstanding Team Award for GPA. Girls team qualified for the state tournament, with one qualifying for the second day.
West Valley tuvo una temporada deportiva de primavera muy exitosa con los siguientes aspectos destacados.
Béisbol: terminó segundo en el estado académicamente y recibió el Premio al Equipo Sobresaliente de la WIAA por su GPA. Terminó cuarto en la liga, ganó su primer juego de postemporada, antes de terminar cuarto en los distritos.
Lanzamiento rápido: terminó segundo en la liga y tercero en el torneo distrital. Recibió el Premio al Equipo Distinguido de la WIAA por su GPA.
Fútbol masculino: recibió el premio al equipo distinguido de la WIAA por su GPA.
Atletismo masculino: cuatro atletas calificaron para la competencia de atletismo estatal. Terminó segundo en el estado académicamente y recibió el Premio al Equipo Sobresaliente de la WIAA por su GPA.
Atletismo femenino: terminó quinto en el estado académicamente y recibió el premio al equipo destacado de la WIAA por su GPA. Diez atletas se clasificaron para la compencia estatal de atletismo.
Tenis masculino: terminó segundo en el estado académicamente y recibió el premio al equipo destacado de la WIAA por su GPA. Campeones de liga y campeones distritales. Tuvimos cinco atletas clasificados para el torneo estatal.
Tenis femenino: terminó tercera en el estado académicamente y recibió el premio al equipo destacado de la WIAA por su GPA. Campeones de liga y campeones distritales. Tuvimos cuatro atletas clasificados para el torneo estatal.
Boys Golf: terminó tercero académicamente en el estado y recibió el premio WIAA Outstanding Team Award por su GPA. El equipo masculino tuvo dos atletas clasificados para el torneo estatal, y uno de ellos se clasificó para el segundo día.
Golf femenino: terminó en cuarto lugar académicamente en el estado y recibió el premio al equipo destacado de la WIAA por su GPA. El equipo femenino se clasificó para el torneo estatal y uno de ellos se clasificó para el segundo día.
