Samantha Meiser recognized as “Student of the Month” at YV-TECH
In her second year at YV-TECH’s Institute of Culinary Arts and Sciences, West Valley High School student Samantha Meiser has mastered advanced culinary techniques and demonstrated exceptional culinary strategies in the commercial kitchen. She specializes in pastry arts practices which earned her a SkillsUSA Top 10 Regional Award.
Samantha’s creativity, precision, and ability to mentor first-year students has set her apart as a leader in the program. Samantha plans to continue her culinary education next school year at South Seattle College’s Culinary Arts program.
YV-TECH is the Yakima Valley Technical Skills Center. YV-TECH began operations in 1977 with six programs; today that number has increased to 23 programs. Operating as a co-op, YV-TECH offers technical career programs to local high school students for no cost. Students attend either the morning session or afternoon session at YV-TECH for technical training and return to their high school for core academic classes.
